Leading jockey and Green Street Bloodstock Ambassador, Bernard Fayd’Herbe, has received an offer to ride in Mauritius for the remainder of the season.

Fayd’Herbe, who had ridden 67 winners from only 429 rides in South Africa this season, has been approached by top Mauritian trainer Gilbert Rousset and negotiations are taking place.

GSB’s Justin Vermaak, speaking on Fayd’Herbe’s behalf, commented: “Nothing is official yet, Bernard and Mr Rousset are discussing details of their contract.”

If he does accept the offer, he will only be leaving for Mauritius after the Vodacom Durban July next Saturday.
