 Bill Oppenheim comments
“Marchfield is a top-class two-turn horse by the great A.P. Indy out of triple Grade 3 winner and 2009 Canadian Broodmare of the Year Pico Teneriffe, by Red Ransom. Two-turn sires have been the most successful on the Woodbine circuit the last few years. Bernardini and Mineshaft are two recent examples of top two-turn sires by A.P. Indy, and Marchfield’s credentials are impeccable: he was placed in the Coronation Futurity at two, and won major Canadian stakes from 8½ – 12 furlongs on polytrack and turf in each of the next three seasons, earning over US$1-million.
Marchfield comes from one of the most accomplished families of the last fifty years: his third dam Aladancer is half-sister to the dam of Cryptoclearance, and her dam Mock Orange is half-sister to Boldnesian, sire of Bold Reasoning (the sire of Seattle Slew, who got A.P. Indy) and of Canadian Champion Sire Bold Ruckus.
No wonder he covered 80 mares in 2011, his first year at stud in Canada. Based on the photographs his foals have the good looks of their father.”

STUD FEE: R5.000 live foal
