First winner for Tiger Dance

Tiger Dance

Tiger Dance has his first crop of 2YO’s racing this season and was credited with his first success when filly Moika Dancer won at the third time of asking over 1200m at Kenilworth on Wednesday.

Tiger Dance raced five times during a brief career in the UK and Ireland, winning one race over 1400m and finishing third in the Gr 3 Minstrel Stakes and fourth in the Gr 3 Ballycorous Stakes.
Tiger Dance may have been only modestly successful as a racehorse, but he has a splendid pedigree and is the full brother to multiple Gr 1 winner and very successful sire Giant’s Causeway.  He is a son of Storm Cat, whose other notable stallions sons include Forest Wildcat, Forestry, Harlan, and the now South African-domiciled Black Minnaloushe.  Tiger Dance is out of the Rahy mare Mariah’s Storm, who won ten races including two Gr 2’s and who is the dam also of UK Gr 2 winner You’resothrilling (by Storm Cat), in addition to her most notable offspring, Giant’s Causeway.
Tiger Dance’s second dam Immense (by Roberto) was a Gr 3 winner in the USA.  She is the dam of French Gr 2 winner Panoramic, and the second dam of three times American Gr 2 winner Quest Star.  Third dam Imsodear produced American champion two-year-old filly Dearly Precious and is the second dam of Gr 3 winner/Gr 1 placed Mister Modesty.
Nine-year-old Tiger Dance was imported in 2007 and stands at Lion River Stud in the Tulbagh region of the Western Cape, where his 2010 fee was advertised as R12 000.
