No American horse can ever be listed as a top racehorse until it has won proper races – as Golden Horn has done and achieved such success without Lassex etc. Tough thing to say but really all US racing is second rate compared to that of the UK, France and South Africa

Comparing SA racing to the UK and France is laughable. When last did a South African horse win a top race there or in the USA or Australia? I was lucky enough to see Frankel and a few other stars like Black Caviar. SA racing is at best second rate now. Where do you think the Durban July winner would feature in these countries in a competitive race? We all know. Don’t we?

  2. english racing is the best in the world, they run true to form and there is no such thing as a horse using a race to bring him on in his fitness. there they bring out an unraced maiden over 10 furlongs ,put the money down and they arrive. sa horses do not come close to the english bloodstock. mike de kock has conquered all before him except in england. with british horses coming into his yard i am sure he will improve his stats. thats why i listern to all the clever guys talking about exports of sa horses. yeah to mauritius and ngong maybe. power king would not run a place in a english grp race. act of war would only see gleneagles at the start then again in the parade ring after the race. anyone that compares the two centres needs to be certified

I agree with you whole heartedly whoever disagrees is definitely smoking Durban Gunja. Only in England can a racehorse win on a Monday and 24 hours later win again, in this Country they need a 3 week break to run again, how many 10 year and 11 year old horses are still in Training and winning races, but here they get retired as 4 year olds, For what reason? Stud Purposes maybe, why?,, to rip new owners off when their yearlings are born after being at stud for a season or two and guess what, they do not live up to their sires ability anyway.

Golden Horn is really top rate but not up there with the real greats like Frankel. No way Jose!
