NHA – Wesley Marwing Suspended

He has the right of appeal against the penalty imposed

National Horseracing AuthorityThe National Horseracing Authority confirms that an inquiry was held at its offices in Johannesburg on 10 June 2016, to establish why CASHIN (M Yeni) had to ease at approximately the 100m in the 6th Race run at the Vaal Racecourse on 2 June 2016.

Jockey Wesley Marwing (ARAMOUSE) was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to CASHIN at the 100m.

Jockey Marwing pleaded guilty to the charge and was found guilty of the charge.

The Board, after viewing the patrol films of the race, considering all the factors presented by Jockey Marwing and also taking into account his record with regard to this rule, ruled that he be suspended from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days.

Jockey Marwing has the right of appeal against the penalty imposed.
