Cape Guineas – The Final Field

Selangor Cup winner gets his chance to show he is genuine classic material

The 2017 renewal of the R1 million Gr1 Cape Guineas boasts a bumper, albeit not a capacity, field of 15 of our best 3yo’s who will clash at Kenilworth on Saturday 16 December.

Candice Bass-Robinson sends out the Gr2 Selangor Cup shock winner Rocket Countdown who takes on Cape Classic star Tap O’Noth in a race that could finally give some direction to the strength of the current 3yo crop.

Glen Kotzen saddles the only Gr1 winner in the field in Dynasty galloper Eyes Wide Open, while Mike de Kock has an interesting pair in Sir David Baird and Like A Panther, who travel from Johannesburg.
