The Australian Turf Club will conduct its annual Introduction to Ownership Forum with a focus on educating new and existing owners about horse ownership and to encourage increased participation.

This will be held at the second Chinese Festival of Racing on the day champion Winx could make her autumn return.

This will be on the second day of the Lunar New Year on 17 February 2018 and will combine the Apollo Stakes race day with Chinese culture.

I believe it will be good for the game. The playing field will be levelled and the small owner can at least have a chance of a group winner.
Domination by a select few does not encourage new owners to stay in the game. Trainers in return tend to pay more attention to the big owner than their percentage owner further weakening the small owner.
The game has been dominated by four big owners and one has already left, so there is hope for the small owner. I also believe that trainers pushed their training costs up because these wealthy owners could afford to pay any price.
This was a long time coming and I must say I’m happy to see this day. May be I’ll reconsider renewing my colors now.
