Erupt Arrives Sunday

Exciting Update On SA-bound Son Of Dubawi

Erupt (Dubawi – Mare Nostrum)

South African bound Dual Gr1 winner Erupt (IRE) (Dubawi – Mare Nostrum) received a welcome boost when Poet’s Word stormed to victory in the 2018 King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on Saturday, 28 July.

Poet’s Word is by Poet’s Voice, a son of Dubawi, who stood alongside his sire at Darley’s Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket until his untimely death of a sudden heart attack in March this year.

The victory by Poet’s Word not only underscores Dubawi’s reputation as one of the world’s greatest stallions, but also as a sire of sires and is very good news for all who are anticipating the arrival of Erupt.

It has been confirmed that the only European G1 winner by Dubawi to come to South Africa, departs Europe tonight and will touch down in Johannesburg on Sunday, 29 July.  Once he has completed his quarantine, he will take up stud duties at Maine Chance Farms in Robertson.

Syndicator Robin Bruss indicates that almost all of the top farms are shareholders including Maine Chance, Drakenstein, Highlands, Wilgerbosdrift, Mauritzfontein, Moutonshoek, Avontuur and Varsfontein.

Erupt’s first season stud fee has been set to the local South Africa market and is looking increasingly good value at R50,000.
