This arose in that as the rider of CORAZON, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to EASY GINGER when shifting inwards, shortly after the start and thereafter when shifting inwards again, causing interference to EASY GINGER and BARGEME, approaching the 1000m in Race 1 at Scottsville Racecourse on 11 July 2018.

Apprentice Jockey Gates pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board found Apprentice Jockey Gates guilty and imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of ten days.

Apprentice Jockey Gates has the right of appeal against the penalty imposed.
