Bling Rides Made To Conquer

Snaith's power quartet of Met jocks strengthened

Six jockeys have now been declared for the R5 million Gr1 Sun Met in advance of final declarations  which are due by 11h00 on Monday.

S’manga Khumalo – has never won the Met

Justin Snaith and Andre Nel are the only trainers to formally declare their jockeys to date, although it is known that Anton Marcus will partner Rainbow Bridge and Lyle Hewitson will be aboard Legal Eagle.

Snaith has a powerful quartet of jockeys carrying his flag, with 2013 July winner S’manga Khumalo the latest to join the team. He rides Vodacom Durban July runner-up, Made To Conquer.

Gavin Lerena has been engaged for Cape Derby winner Eyes Wide Open, while MJ Byleveld, who has his first ride at Kenilworth on Saturday after a  five month injury enforced absence, rides Cape Guineas winner of 2017, Tap O’Noth.

Aldo Domeyer, who won the Met in 2013 on outsider Martial Eagle, again finds himself in the Sabine Plattner silks as he rides longshot Kampala Campari.

Only 17 horses are left in contention, with the Kannemeyer pair of It’s My Turn and Hashtagyolo unlikely to run.

When Made To Conquer Ran in the July Under Jeff Lloyd, i thought it was supposed to be the perfect send off to the great rider! SO MUCH for Fairytales! The Weights conditions for the SUN MET looks tough for the horse but then again @20/1 alongside Legal Eagle, it won’t Hurt to invest R500 on each horse

Sloppy seconds.. Did tarry give khumalo the boot.. He is riding dreadfully after his injury
