13 Runners is not good, a Disgrace. Not even 4 Places. There is Just one Race in this Country.
    THE JULY!!

    1. karel says:

      You bet places?!

  2. Michael Higgs says:

Riaan the problem is the cape horses scare the Durban and Jhb horses away purely because they don’t have the stock.
Only LE gives it a bash every year.We still support the July Eg Mr Snaith. Its the best horses in the land with the exception of hawaam. Its good to see a few raiders in the other races makes for good racing.Thank u Mr Peters and Howells for bringing them down.

  3. Riaan says:

HI Karel. It is not being betting places. The Field is a Disgrace for a big Race.

  4. Josh Brown says:

Are races being race for the public or the owners, then why dont they do it in a private place where the owners compete their horses against each other, handicap races give every horse a chance, weight for age in Cape Town is called Snaith handicap, scrap weight for age races, the big trainers just love the weight for age races, case they moan their good horses get high merits and too much weight, no one must keep tabs on them

  5. Kay says:

Riaan you say the field is a disgrace for a big race? Think you are using the wrong words. It is a high class field, far from being a disgrace. The problem is punters just want things their way. WFA races put the best against the best. So if the best only get 13 then so be it. It is of course disappointing that we don’t have 16 or more runners from a betting point of view but your description of it being a disgrace is incorrect. Compare how many handicaps are being run throughout the year for punters’ pleasure compare to WFA races for the purists pleasure then we can all do the maths. I am sure there are enough races on the day from around the world to bet on. The fact that there are no six places could be a blessing in disguise if you pick a roughie who runs 3rd paying R6+ instead of R2,50+ in the event of 6 places. It is so annoying of readers moaning and being so negative on everything being posted.

  6. Josh Brown says:

13 of the best, for real, by only You and the 13 trainers and owners yes, may be 5 horses in it, the rest make up the numbers, and pacemakers, get real friend, the horses profiles everyones can see there are better than the rest

  7. Rian says:

Would have been nice for TAB to have had 2 PICK 6s on met day, the first 6 races and then the next 6
In the States they have a super 5 on the first 5 races and then on the last 6 they have a super 6 and the costs are normally 10 cents and 20 cents a combination and the pools are large with regular carryovers.
    Just a thought
Anyway i think Soqrat would have shown them a thing or two as well as Lady in Black who ran a great race to Oh Susanna but their trainers obviously know what they doing

  8. Michael Higgs says:

    well said Josh and Kay

  9. Rian says:

This is really not 13 of the best horses by a long shot

  10. Dave says:

I would think that Do It Again, Oh Susanna, Legal Eagle, Undercover Agent and Rainbow Bridge are about the best horses and most highly rated at this stage. Other than perhaps Soqrat, who do you think is missing Rian ?

  11. Rian says:

I agree with you Dave , on m/r they deserve to be up there
Only think that Twist of Fate must be close as Sporting Post have Soqrat on 132 points and Twist doesnt feature
Snaith young horses ratings will go up when they prove themselves and i saw a very nice horse of P Steyn win on Sat and if the met was a handicap he would have run well,….
Enjoy your bets but also keep an eye on the Pegasus world cup on the same evening
