Vaal Tuesday Name Change – Clarity

The NRB was notified of change on Monday

National Horseracing AuthorityThe National Horseracing Authority has confirmed that the registered name of WINTER IN IRELAND (SAF), sired by WHAT A WINTER (SAF), out of the mare, IRISH MYTH (SAF) foaled on 9 August 2016, was changed to that of ATIAAF (SAF) on Monday, 28 January 2019.

The National Racing Bureau was notified of the name change on 28 January 2019 at 13:43 and the SA Horseracing website was updated by the NHA accordingly.

The channels of dissemination of the card changes thereafter rest solely with that body, which was fulfilled.

This is absolutely utter nonsense, horse should have been scratched,so legally speaking if I backed WINTER IN IRELAND I should get a refund just saying although I never back this horse it’s not fair to punters. This NHRA should issued a press release scratching this horse from the race.

    1. Editor says:

Nothing in rules say that the horse should have been scratched Marlon

  2. James George says:

Should a horse that is carded be allowed to have its name changed 24 hours before he takes his place in the race?If a foreign owner buys the Vodacom July hot favourite Easter Bunny at 3pm the day before the race and changes the name to Jamal, what name will it run under?
There is no Rule,so what would the NHRA and operators do?

  3. beatle says:
