Tarry Flashes And Burns To 2000 Milestone

Turffontein Sunday ninth race winner marks the magic

Multiple SA champion trainer Sean Tarry notched a notable career milestone of 2000 winners at Turffontein on Sunday.

Sean Tarry – 2000 up!

He reached the landmark courtesy of his final runner of the day when the 3yo Byword colt Flash Burn, ridden by SA champion jockey Lyle Hewitson, won the ninth virtually from start to finish.

The 50 year old Sean Tarry  has risen rapidly to the pinnacle of the ranks of South African trainers in recent years and is one of a rare group of his profession to saddle the winner of the Gr1 Vodacom Durban July in consecutive years.

Sean has saddled 50 Gr1 winners.Tilbury Fort’s big win in the 2018 Summer Cup was his landmark on that front.

He praised his team for their hard work and said he was thrilled to be joining a select band of about half a dozen trainers who had achieved the milestone.

Yes Mr Tarry, well done, indeed you’re joining an elite group of trainers. Alastor winning the Met in ’05 at 50-1 started it for this likeable man ? Here is to many more winners, off course including the Team behind you.

  3. Roderick Mattheyse says:

    Great Achievement
