Brett Crawford galloper set for Champions Cup finale

Recent Gr2 Drill Hall Stakes winner Undercover Agent, who bids to win the Gr1 Tsogo Sun Sprint at Scottsville on Saturday, will join the Klawervlei stallion roster at the end of this season.

The announcement was made by the 4yo son of Captain Al’s joint owners Braam van Huyssteen and Greg Bortz this weekend.

A R325 000 Cape Premier Yearling Sale graduate, the Gr1, Gr2 and Gr3 winning Undercover Agent is a seven-time winner overall and a consistent five time placer in 16 starts. He has earned over R5,7 million in stakes.

He was bred by Moutonshoek and is out of the twice winning stakes winner Secret Risk (London News) – from the family of Evening Attire.

When Undercover Agent won the 2018 Gold Challenge last term he marked maiden Gr1 successes both for Moutonshoek and champion apprentice of the time, Lyle Hewitson.

The big imposing sound athlete joins Captain Al sons William Longsword and Captain Of All at Klawervlei.

After Saturday, Undercover Agent is likely to defend his Rising Sun Gold Challenge title and then wind his career up in the Champions Cup.

John Koster labelled the announcement ‘exciting news.

He said that Undercover Agent would be syndicated at 45 shares of R85 000 each – which includes two services per year for the first four years.
