Crusade Passes On

KZN breeders bid a sad farewell

KZN-based Gr1 Middle Park Stakes winner Crusade has died.

The KZN Breeders report that a decision was made to euthanise him whilst under anaesthetic due to considerable and irreparable damage found to his colon after suffering a severe bout of colic.

Crusade (Mr Greeley – La Traviata)

Crusade began his career at Scott Bros’ Highdown Stud and following their total dispersal in 2018, the Crusade Syndicate made the decision to relocate the well related son of Mr Greeley to Clifton Stud.

Crusade, a winner of the Gr1 Middle Park Stakes is a half-brother to multiple Gr1 winner Seventh Heaven and to two other Group Performers.

His daughter Silent Crusade ran a smart third behind SA Horse Of The Year Oh Susanna in the Gr2 Tibouchina Stakes last Saturday.

The KZN Breeders said that their thoughts go out to both Scott Bros and Clifton Stud who stood Crusade.
