Marcus On Hawwaam

Intends exploring Aussie opportunities

Mike de Kock speaks to James Goodman about the Vodacom Durban July and explains why he kept Hawwaam at Summerveld, rather than sending him back to Joburg.

He also says that Anton Marcus is probably riding the smart 3yo.

“He rides him at work every day – and he hasn’t told me he is not riding Hawwaam. Maybe he should make an official statement,” says the champion trainer.

Hawaam has won 2 group1 races in a row with no whip required…Jumping off the horse now for the July would seem to be an Unwise decision from Mr. Marcus…..as good as Rainbow Bridge & DO IT AGAIN are, Hawaam will be just too good for them even at Level weights

Frankie Zackey…What the he’ll is going on with the publishing of Computaforms not one of my outlets have received computaforms for today’s racing in the South… absolute disgrace… MR Editor could you pls get a comment from Rob Scott and give us some feedback.. R B you should hang your head shame for allowing this to happen..cutting cost I’m assuming will be the answer…one would think that after printing that dirty rotten (*** edited)smelling Computaform on Guineas day the fools would have woken up…I’m hoping you got a serious mouth full from the Sponcers Wilgerbosdrift that day one can’t understand the logic behind this is it for selfgain ? Knowing that the greatest tool formgrids has been hact after 15 years of running smooth at no cost to the public is one now forced to guess from the newspaper or does one go on dreams or feeling for names…. do you not respect that we playing with real money….

    1. Editor says:

We have passed the query to Phumelela Publishing, Frankie

    2. Editor says:

Frankie, could you please let us know what specific outlets are being referred to
Feel free to write to [email protected] or simply post here

  3. Rob Champion says:

Getting Computaforms in Cape is also a mission. Not a week goes by that we cannot get at least one venue. This is in the Table View area.

    1. Editor says:

Thanks – passed on to Phumelela Publishing

  4. gavin says:

gavin lerena will win it on rainbow bridge

  5. Ronny says:

Whenever the DBN July is around the corner, weird stuff starts happening.

  6. Frankie says:

Frankie Zackey…Tks Mr Editor but one can gather the answer….Rob Champion we fighting a loosing battle its been a ongoing thing for sometime now sad to see… 80% of the South area they normally supply haven’t received books not the 1st or 2nd time this has happened…

    1. Editor says:

      Hi Frankie
We mailed you – could you plse supply the specific outlets
Phumelela keen to assist you – they have just called us again

  7. Deezo says:

Hawwaam WILL not beat Do It Again at the weights. Just look at the quality that Hawwaam has beaten. No disrespect to the trainers, but he has not beaten much. Hawwaam has not tackled large fields before and He no Horse Chestnut. Horse Chestnut was a freak of an animal. I cannot see any 3 year old win this year’s July. Do not be surprised if Snaith does a Terrence Millard 1-2-3.

  8. Shivi says:

Easier to catch the lotto than to buy a computaform

  9. Cecil Pienaar says:

I hope Bernard gets the ride (back) on Rainbow Bridge.

Good choice Mr Marcus, after all he has ridden D I A and R B before..

  10. Ronny Naidoo says:

The betting odds are so short as if Hawwaam is a penalty kick at 56 kgs? What are the odds on Hawwaam being scratched?

  11. Frankie says:

Frankie Zackey…not to worry about is MR Editor that’s for the effort and concern…once can clear hear and see it’s not just the South of JHB…once the Sasol garage in Turf Club st opposite the Turffontein Racecourse never received books then Clearly there’s a issue…same applies to the Maggi Spar in Mulbarton and Southdale cafe…they are by far your biggest guys purchasing Computaform

  12. (Gus) van randen says:

Use sporting post they give you something to work on like the horses actual time for the race no matter where he ran computaform only gives you the winners time

  13. Ronny says:

If Hawaam caries 56kg, it will be race over…Abashiri carried 59.5kgs and that was the end of his career

  14. Brad says:

Gentlemen I have been finding many problems with Computaform Online and there isn’t a week that goes by without sending them an email about mistakes on the Fotoform and like this week the KZN fotoform was not uploaded for the 25th And 29th May but all other centers were loaded until around the 4th June. Their excuse was it’s an IT problem. But then how do they upload later editions . Is there a quality department checking this .?

  15. mike says:

gavin lerena is the best jockey around he will ride rainbow bridge the way he should be ridden

  16. phil says:

who needs computaform with the web sites??? much easier studying on gallop.co.za!!

  17. Reg Lawrence says:

There is only one July jockey and that is Striker will finish in the first 4
