July – People’s Pick 6 Gathers Momentum!

SP readers get behind the bid to win the big one

The response to the Sporting Post Durban July People’s Pick Six Perm has already exceeded all expectations.

Last week we announced the Sporting Post readers bid to win a share of the R15 million July day Pick 6 action and the response has been inspiring, to say the least.

Co-ordinator extraordinaire and punting professor emeritus William Milkovitch has been inundated with contributions, suggestions, selections and informed input – just as we had hoped he’d be.

He provided an update on the timetable:

“Good afternoon Sporting Post Bloggers,

Going forward, I’ll send out a group e-mail early Thursday evening updating all participants about pool size, stake money not yet received & number of participants.

On Friday morning, just after 9am, I’ll send out a 2nd group e-mail showing the polling results of all your selections & the proposed perm.

I’m sure many of you have realized that it is possible that we might land up with a pooled result of  Field x Field x Field x Field x Field x Field.

If that scenario comes to fruition, there is no need to be concerned as we’ll have a 6 hour window to exchange ideas via e-mail.

We might even consider a very low % perm to cover each and everyone’s selection and then a thinner second ‘wise guys’ perm to attain a 100 % ticket.

Obviously if that happens, the majority of the kitty will be spent on the 100 % perm.

Remember if 4 big bombs arrives it will be a +R 5 000 000 payout irrespective of a pool of R 14 000 000 or R 20 000 000.

So, our 2% ticket of a R 6 254 000 guessed payout, split into your pro rata share, is still better than a slap in the face or walking home from Greyville in tears.

It follows, that for example, your 1% equity of the All Inclusive perm will result in a (R 125 080 @ 1%)  = R1 250.80 pay packet. At worst, you can still buy your spouse/boy-girlfriend a few Woolworths vouchers.

In addition to the proposed perm, I’ll also show the full structure of everybody’s estimated equity in our PEOPLES PERM (via private e-mail)

It is important for you to ask these sort of question via my e-mail only, otherwise we’ll unduly burden The Editor with technical stuff not related to racing news.

Now, back to today, I’m confident that we’ll have at least 50+ participants with a kitty in excess of R 40 000.

Laters and thank you All.”

    This venture is extremely fluid.

We’ll certainly have +R 50 000 for the PEOPLES PERM.

William as @ 10.08 am Wednesday

keeping my fingers crossed for this one, already paid and now busy with my selections

I’d like to relay to All participants, that unfortunately, we cannot place the bet with Hollywoodbets as they have a Pick Six payout limit of R 10 000 000.

If there’s a R 13 587 666 payout, then I’ll land up “in the slammer”, and what’s more .. my helicopter is still in for repairs ????????????????

  8. Jackpotking says:

    Agreed Tabgold has no limits

    ???????????????????? I wish ????????????????????

PS – hope your pilot’s license is current with Instrument flying if I look at your CT weather

That’s the last thing I need ! I have received your venture capital and sent a confirmation.

    Thanks again, Cecil

Evening William, how is your form studying going for the big meeting?

I have a question for you, I was issued with a voucher from the tote and I lost it within 2 minutes.????

I then reported it lost within 2 minutes and paid a R20 towards stopping the voucher but to my dismay I’ve now learned that I have to wait for three weeks for my money. It was quite a substantial amount and now I have to wait.

What irritates me is I never asked for a voucher nor do I gamble with vouchers, I use hard cash but always have issues with the totes as they keep very less float.

Is there anyone from Gold Circle on this forum willing to assist? I spoke to some one from Gold Circle who went on and on about procedure, surely logic should prevail as three weeks is far too long. Voucher was stopped and surely its null and void?

Sounds like you are Agony Aunt now, William!
      Do your best.

  13. Cameron James says:

Good thinking William to place your bet on the tote. I remember in 2017 I placed an exacta type bet on a harness race in Albion Park Australia.

The exacta dividend was 67.20 and I took it 2000 times.

Sadly to my dismay I was paid only about R8000 as the pool was only R 8000 on that particular race. So safer in the totes with your P6.

    Good luck.

Mr . Pillay, Just send me a blank e-mail to [email protected]hoo.co.uk and I’ll attend to your request

    All done, Mr Pillay.

Apologies for the slight delay, Sir

That’s OK Karel, make fun, I’m already badly handicapped ????????????

Cameron, send me a blank e-mail, then I can advise you how to get hold of the willing people @ the TOTE who will attend to your plight .

Secondly, the Editor has kindly agreed to publish my brief summary & tips tomorrow with regards The JULY card.

    All the best
