Jockey Marco van Rensburg suffered a nasty fall aboard Kildonan Princess in the first race at Flamingo Park today.

Tabnews reports that the Cliffie Miller-trained filly abruptly ducked inwards at the 800m marker, dislodging her rider, who was then almost run over by one of the horses.
Darren McEwan, race day representative for Phumelela confirmed Van Rensburg did not suffer any broken bones.“Fortunately, Marco is conscious and fully aware – he is speaking thoroughly,” said McEwan. “He just has a sore arm and sore foot.”
