It is now 16h20 and I have just watched Race 3 from Lingfield on Tellytrack.

It was a six-horse field and Hollywood Bets were betting Fixed Odds Places on two places only which is acceptable given the size of the field. Two my absolute horror they were betting 1/20th of the win odds for the place betting as follows:

    Little Bird 0.63/1 for a win and 0.032/1for a place (2 places).
Um Elnadim 1.82/1 for a win and 0.091/1 for a place (2 places).
Her Indoors 16.67/1 for a win and 0.834/1 for a place (2 places).
Fair Sabra 16.67/1 for a win and 0.834/1 for a place (2 places).
    Hiconic 25/1 for a win and 1.25/1 for a place (2 places).
Loretta Lass 66.67/1 for a win and 3.33/1 for a place (2 places).

I really would like Hollywood to respond to these place odds as it amounts to daylight robbery and the odds being offerered they are robbing the punter BLIND.

All we here is how Hollywood are so fair when it comes to refunding punters in certain instances when in truth they are the worst fixed odds operators in the industry.

    1. Editor says:

Russell, Hollywood have responded as follows:
‘Apologies to all – the race was set up correctly for 2 places but the oddsmaker incorrectly set the place percentages for 3 places.
We have gone ahead and paid out fixed places on the 3rd place finisher. We will also be paying out the 1st two finisher’s at the corrected odds for 2 places
This was a genuine mistake and nothing sinister in the odds—the place odds for 3 places in a 6 horse field with a 6/10 favourite were always going to be prohibitively short –in fact with a 18/10 2nd favourite even with the correct percentages for 2 places the odds would have been very low.’

I trust Russell will temper his language in future.

  5. Brad says:

I bet with Hollywood , and can tell you that this must be a finger error. I trust Hollywood they are not scared to take or honor a bet. A few months ago WSB closed my betting account after limiting me to R5K on yankees. They simply want losers on their site only

  6. Rajen Govender says:

Ever since the roll over double has been stoped i dont enjoy racing any more.i am not happy.i hope it comes back into play.

  7. proceed says:

Rajen, have to agree with you. Every time I want to take a double I realise that it is not possible. Will not support the R6 unit double. Good luck. Nothing will change. So lets move on!!!
