Can Tiger Do Three?

The 9yo aims for a third Grand National in 2020

Tiger Roll is the 5/1 favourite with Betway, official betting partner of the Randox Health Grand National Festival, following the news that the nine-year-old will seek a record third consecutive success in the £1-million Randox Health Grand National at Aintree in 2020.

Tiger Roll will run only twice this season before bidding to become the first horse in history to win the Randox Health Grand National for a third consecutive year, his trainer Gordon Elliott has revealed.

In April, Tiger Roll emulated the legendary Red Rum to win the world’s greatest steeplechase back to back.

Trainer Gordon Elliott has now confirmed for the first time that the Gigginstown-owned nine-year-old is definitely being aimed at the Aintree showpiece event on Saturday, April 4, 2020, with top jockey Davy Russell named as the man who will partner him again.

However, Tiger Roll will not set foot on a racecourse until the New Year in preparation for his record-breaking attempt, with a bid to win at a fifth Cheltenham Festival also planned.

In an interview with Aintree Racecourse,Gordon Elliott said Tiger Roll has returned to the yard from his summer holiday fit and well. Watch it below:

there will never be another red rum, but there is a tiger. like red rum he has never fallen so heres hoping he does it, would be fantastic.

  2. Beverley Hibbert says:

One has to hope and pray this does not cost him his life. Jumps racing, and even more so, this grand national, should be banned!

Would it be Jim ! And every time he runs I fear for him. And he is so slight of stature/build ….. calling upstairs, please watch over him.

  4. everytime one of ours goes to post all my wife says is come home safe. same goes for every single horse that ever runs. one of my alltime favourites was many clouds. who’d have thought he would die the way he did

I adore jumps racing, so like you, I just pray every horse comes back safely.

I just heard that Crystal Ocean flat career is over.

A hind cannon bone injury on the polytrack track canter this morning.

Precisely. Whether jumping or in the paddock anything can happen. Horses. Spend your whole life with your heart in your mouth.
