The false rail on the Turffontein standside track is set at zero on the back straight to 5,5m on the bend, with a 5,5m spur at the 700m mark.

    Why don’t the authorities implement/stage barrier trails in Gauteng for all these horses which “will/should need the run”? Then there will be level playing fields and all the inexperienced horses will not cause interferences, traffic problems, jumping sideways and shifting from the whip???

    With so many horses in that category there could be two barrier trails today with 10 horses each and then they can learn about racing separately from horses which is used to racing, and we as punters don’t get affected in racing by “in-experienced” horses.
