The Wertheimer & Frère’s eagerly awaited homebred FLOP SHOT (lot 21) was knocked down for €850,000 to Michel Zerolo (Oceanic Bloodstock), the top price at the sale.

The three year-old son of New Approach had not finished out of the first three this season, having notably won the Prix de Guiche (Gr3) as well as finished third in the Prix Guillaume d’Ornano (Gr2) and Prix Eugene Adam (Gr2).

He will now run in the colours of the well-known American owner Peter Brant (White Birch Farm), who is represented by August Yearling Sale graduate SOTTSASS in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on Sunday.
