Cheyne Hits Fairview Jackpot

Ridgemont rider in red hot form

Greg Cheyne – red hot form

One person who will have welcomed the introduction of TAB’s new second Jackpot at Fairview on Friday’s is Ridgemont jockey Greg Cheyne.

The new bet was introduced for the first time at the meeting and incorporates the last four races.

Cheyne won race 5 on Madam Speaker (5-10), Race 6 on Ontenderhooks (11-2), Race 7 on Samar (14-10) and Race 8 on Miss Jacksonville (5-1).

The second Jackpot, while producing a substantially lower pool than the first Jackpot on the afternoon, returned a dividend of R296.20 – a nice payout considering two of them were hot favourites.

    Top jock

Top jockey in Fairview and ok in Cape Town. Unknown in Flamingo Park but at other race courses in KZN and Gauteng, he can barely take off. The much aligned jockeys international, showed who is really on top of their game.
