Puller, Kennedy And Laff’s Bint Are Victorious

Sizzling Punter's Challenge starts on Sunday

The rampant duo of Summerveld trainer Garth Puller and SA national log-leading jockey Warren Kennedy were the toast of Hollywoodbets Greyville on a wet Friday evening, picking up a winner apiece on the final eight-race programme of the inaugural R750 000 Hollywoodbets Sizzling Summer Challenge, to cement their titles as winners of the competition.

Paul Lafferty’s King’s Chapel filly Bint El Malak was the winner of the horse/owners section.

She is owned by recently elected RA Director Brian Riley and was bred by Bush Hill Stud out of Lee Danzig.

Bint El Malak raced six times in the competition for two victories, two seconds and a third. She also ran sixth in a field of 12 at her other outing.

The winning trainer, jockey and owner/horse in each category banked R100 000 each, with prizes of R50 000 to the runner-up, R40 000 to 3rd place, R30 000 to 4th place, R20 000 to 5th place, and R10 000 to 6th place.

Full results will be published on the Hollywoodbets site.

The Hollywoodbets Sizzling Summer Challenge was run on a points system from 1 December on all  KZN races.

Points were awarded according to the finishing position for each runner taking part in a race.

The total points available in each race was determined by how many runners were taking part.

On Sunday the Sizzling Punter’s Challenge gets under way at Hollywoodbets Scottsville!
