Muzi’s Rollercoaster Season

Vaal today - first off at 13h15

Piere Strydom, Warren Kennedy and Diego de Gouveia will not ride at today’s milestone Vaal meeting – our last local racemeeting for at least three weeks.

South African racing goes into lockdown with the rest of the country at midnight tonight and there should be plenty of interest in today’s well subscribed eight-race programme that gets underway with a Workriders Maiden and the Bipot opener at 13h15.

And maybe the man to follow is Muzi Yeni, who returned from a three months plus suspension under two weeks ago, and now soon finds himself on the sidelines again – this time through none of his own doing and with the rest of the racing world.

He has five rides this afternoon and must be itching to get a few on the board.

The track condition has been posted as good.

The inside false rail is set at zero on the back straight and bend with a 2m spur at the 600m mark.

The outside false rail is 8m in from the 1600m to the 600m mark.
