The first leg of the brand new Hollywoodbets Back On Track Challenge which got under way at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday has been completed.

The competition, based on similar lines to the massively successful Hollywoodbets Sizzling Summer Challenge which ended in February, offers prize money to the value of R530,000 with individual challenges for trainers, jockeys, horses, grooms and apprentices.

This is the first time that grooms and apprentices will be included in the competition.

The Challenge applies to all KwaZulu-Natal race meetings at Hollywoodbets Greyville and Hollywoodbets Scottsville.

The next KZN racemeeting is the commencement of the SA Champions Season  at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday 7 June.

I would like to see a twist to these challenges – this format is a numbers game 65l 6th out of 6 still earns points!!

Smaller (in numbers) participants are basically excluded.

    Something like this :

Enabler – 15 runs for trainers and apply/jockeys to qualify

Winner determined by number of points as earned per the current scale x first 4 strike rate

Horse and Groom is more difficult and I would suggest the qualifying enabler to be 3 runs and determine by average first 4 with a boost for pattern races 1% listed 2% g3 , 3% g2 and 7% g1
