KZN Betting Outlets Are Open!

It feels like Christmas

Off-course totes and bookmaking facilities in KwaZulu-Natal have been given the green light to open as from Saturday, 27 June.

In a press release, the KwaZulu-Natal Gaming and Betting Board confirmed that totalisator and bookmaking facilities will be allowed to re-open subject to certain regulations.

  • Fifty percent of capacity of the number of people on site in relation to the floor space of the venue at any given time.
  • Ensure that the Health, Safety and Occupational Health prescribed guidelines in respect of Covid-19 are adhered to.
  • The applicable social distancing requirements.

However, racecourses remain closed to the public and only people essential to the running of the race meetings are allowed to attend.

    Amazing wonderful news but jockeys are forbidden to ride in KZN for the entire month of July if they choose to take rides in Gauteng on one day that being the 2/7/2020 !!!!

    Avril lerena you asking for too much don’t get greedy. The govt is doing as much as possible to open up a lot of business in spite objections from party’s like Eff. 1 step at time please. We are all living it why can’t you

    Mac Naidoo my comment has nothing to do with Govt who were not mentioned at all. My gripe is with the NHA. Trainers can commute between centers but not jockeys. What sense does that make. Unfair practice by NHA is the norm of the day where jockeys are concerned. That’s my opinion and I’m entitled to it.
