A big day seldom passes with Sean Tarry not getting on the board and the SA Champion duly delivered with the Pomodoro 3yo Golden Belle producing a career peak showing R150 000 World Sports Betting Gr2 Camellia Stakes at Turffontein on Saturday.

After Gin Fizz had gone hell for leather early on and held a decent lead  past half way in the 1160m feature, Luke Ferraris produced Golden Belle (40-1) inside the 300m and she went on powerfully to beat the 5yo Schippers (5-1) by 4,25 lengths in a time of 68,24 secs.

Piere Strydom was again in the money, bringing Dancing Queen (10-1) on from way back for third a further half length adrift.

Bred by Klawervlei Stud, who enjoyed a good day after their Springs Of Carmel won the SA Fillies Nursery earlier, Golden Belle is a daughter of Pomodoro (Jet Master), who won the July in the same blue and red flag. She is out of retired Klawervlei sire Dupont’s Elusive Quality half-sister Juvenescent, who never won.

Golden Belle has won 3 races with 1 place from 6 starts for stakes of R225 875.
