Medium Is Big On July Call!

Clairvoyant hits the trifecta straight line

Durban-based medium and clairvoyant Doreen Jacobs selected the 497-1 Trifecta and came within a whisker of tipping the 2020 Gr1 Vodacom Durban July winning Quartet with a straight line suggestion.

We reported from a Gameplan Media press release on Friday that Doreen has been a fan of the July raceday since watching it on television with her father and was fascinated by the energies she was picking up from some of the runners named in the eighteen-strong 2020 final field.

The report stated:

She was clear on the name of the Justin Snaith-trained Belgarion snatching the 2020 Vodacom Durban July title, apparently pulling away from Got The Greenlight in the closing stages, with a determined Do It Again and Rainbow Bridge challenging hard.

“I saw red, yellow and green silks featuring strongly at the end,” she said. Belgarion will be ridden by jockey Richard Fourie wearing scarlet silks with a gold cross across his chest, while Got The Greenlight will be carrying all red silks.”

So she got the top three in order and interestingly, Doreen’s suggested fourth placer, Rainbow Bridge, carries the same Rattray silks as his stablemate Golden Ducat, who actually ran fourth and completed the R8580 quartet. Rainbow Bridge ended sixth.

Efforts to contact Doreen on Saturday evening were unsuccessful. We wanted to suggest that she considers guesting on our National Tipsters Panel from time to time!

The Sporting Post ran a competition on Saturday sponsored by Avontuur amongst our regular national tipsters and also a celebrity Vodacom Durban July top 5. Our readers were invited to join in the top 5 section.

At the end of the day, Port Elizabeth-based racing journalist Henk Steenkamp and the Winning Ways Show were the recipients of the Avontuur-sponsored prizes in the Vodacom Durban July Day competitions.

Thanks to our generous sponsors and congratulations to the winners – we will be in touch soon.
