Exciting Colt Scratched – But Durbanville Goes Ahead

First off at 12h50 - track is soft

A competitive card is hosted at Durbanville today, with the scratching of the highly vaunted Captain Of Stealth likely to be a disappointment to many.

The undefeated Vaughan Marshall charge was expected to make his return to the track after a long absence.

The first race on the card starts at 12h50 and the lucky last will close off proceedings at 16h45.

Bonny Bean writes that the Adam Marcus stable send out Al’s My Daddy who competes in Race 2.

This son of Captain Al returns from a 24 week layoff but the manner in which he won his last two races over this distance were encouraging.

He found plenty support in the market on both occasions and now finds himself in a position to reel off the hat-trick.

Craig Zackey retains the ride and from their inside barrier position, they should be tough to get past in the closing stages of this contest.

The Greg Ennion camp send out Lady Catherine who participates in Race 3.

This daughter of Captain Of All showed her customary pace last time out against winners in a Juvenile Plate when she found one better in the form of French Fling.

It must be noted that the form of that race has worked out well with Miss Generosity having come out and won since.

The way she races suggests that she will overcome her wide barrier position without using up too much energy and it is encouraging that the ear-muffs remain fitted for this contest.

After his fall on Sunday, Sandile Mbhele has been replaced on his rides today.
