Cape Town Has All The Right Jockeys

Vivian Mansour can't see what the fuss is about

Why all the fuss about jockey travel movement?

Grant Behr and Karl Neisius

So asks Vivian Mansour in the Sporting Post Mailbag.

Cape Town have the best selection of Jockeys to ride in all the Cape races.

Did Grant Behr not prove that?

It will boost their moral for 2021.

If the horse is “right’ on the day and jockeys listen to instructions from the trainers etc. ….what is the problem?

I think the Cape Town Jockeys will be smiling all the way to the bank…. And why not!  Good Luck!

    Good on You Vivian

Just like Jo’burg have their own pool of talent.

Mr. Grant Behr, I hope your family and friends have treated you to the best sounds of Steely Dan.

Now we are searching the horizons of talent in the form of racing administrators… not that type of Clyde Basel of Jo’burg, Mr. Racing Graeme Hawkins and the former fabulous twin chairman’s of KRC – Bloomberg & Currie

The 3 regions have less than nothing to show for after there much vaunted expertise.

With all due respect to the jockey. The horse won the race. Baulked 3 times and still won.

  3. Theo Williams says:

All F1 cars are superfast…..Hamilton nearly aways comes out on top…

  4. Michael Jacobs says:

There are a few jockeys who can try harder, particularly when they are riding favourites. While I agree that there are unsung heroes and hardworking jocks that don’t get opportunties, I have often noticed that when those guys do get chances they mess it up. In Cape Town I’m talking about Behr, Ashby, Smitsdorf, Noach, Cele and a few others, when they ride favourites they lose, whereas other like Marcus, Domeyer, Kennedy, Fourie can be relied on to bring hime the bacon. So these journeymen should up their game, try harder and not let the public down. Then they will gain our supporr.

  5. At Shawn says I dont understand your point. If I understand you correctly Sir Lewis Hamilton didn’t win any race the car won the race? The car did? In cricket the bowler didn’t bowl out the batsman? The ball did?
