Veale Gets Week For Interference

Pleaded guilty to the charge

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in the Stipendiary Stewards’ Boardroom at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on 6 June 2021, Jockey Sean Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7. 

The particulars being that as the rider of A WHOLE NEW WORLD, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners approaching the 1000m, in Race 5 at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on 23 May 2021.

Jockey Veale pleaded guilty to the charge. 

The Inquiry Board accepted his plea and accordingly found Jockey Veale guilty as charged.  After considering the evidence in this matter, the Inquiry Board imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days. 

Jockey Veale waived his Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed and was granted permission to take his suspension from 7 June to 13 June 2021, both days inclusive.
