The two saddest assessments from Mr. Vee Moodley & Mr. Lennon Maharaj’s ‘handicapping’ department in living memory.

    ExpressFromTheUS – (4G) – 54 – 122 MR – Stuart Pettigrew

    Sovereign Spirit – (5G) – 54 – 122 MR – Candice Bass-Robinson

In addition, these merit rating couldn’t have been finalized by a junior or trainee handicapper.

Does anyone have an update whether Pierre Strydom will be riding in the July .I know he was injured.Recovery time anyone?

    1. Editor says:

      We have asked Striker

  5. Graham Martin says:

I agree with you 100% William, what an absolute FARCE! Does anyone out there know what COLLATERAL FORM means? I doubt it from what I’ve read on this forum. The M.R. handicapping
system brought into this country from some clever from the U.K. has reduced collateral form to almost non- existent! The industry needs change especially the handicapping system! Hopefully it happens sooner than later!

  6. Daine says:

I think there wil be a massive upset this year

  7. Dan Maniram says:

IMO, this year’s July would be decided by the 3 Cape Town 3 yr olds. Which one is anybody’s guess.

  8. WILLIAM MILKOVITCH says:

War of Athena draws 1 in the Garden Province !

  9. Lg says:

Justin Snaith said that got the greenlight’s weight makes him hard to beat. JS is seldom wrong.

Yeni will most likely ride him. And he is hungry and enjoys Greyville
But the draw will also play a part.

All we can do is wait and see.

  10. dylan barnard says:

I hope Muzi picks WOA. If not then my p6 perm is ×2 in the Garden Province.

  11. Dennis Isaacs says:

Where is jockey GODDEN? appears so scarce….are trainers not using him?

  12. Ramonana says:

Muzi Yeni to 🏆win July Handicap on any 🐎 horse he rides.

  13. Francois van Ghent says:

There is only one horse who can beat GOTHEGREENLIGHT… from the Snaith stable….imported from down-under….

  14. Francois van Ghent says:

Tristan latest Covid test is negative and he will be back at work tomorrow. 🙏

  15. Suben says:

    Dear Ed,

I’d like to know where Anton Marcus is.

    1. Editor says:

      Injured, Suben

  16. WILLIAM MILKOVITCH says:

Yes Dylan, even though I think Captain’s Ransom is the best thing since sliced bread, I will include WOA if she runs in the Garden Province.

In the Post Merchants ( Race 9 ) Mr. R Fourie is nominated to take the ride on Kasimir. Rio Querari draws 33 out of 38.

So it looks like his gonna give it a miss. That makes the last leg of the Pick6 a nightmare …I love it

  17. Raven Govender says:

Where is the Mike dekock line up

  18. Gopaul Chetty says:

    Where is jockey G Wright?

  19. Dan Maniram says:

While Gotthegreenlight is probably the best handicapped horse in the July, Justin Snaith is probably the shrewdest psychologist in racing world…

  20. Frederick Low says:

War Of Athena is scratched from the July & will run in the Garden Province instead

  21. mahenrp@gmail.com says:

Mr Editor . Latest on Striker. Previous comment was that you asked him. Thank you

  22. mahenrp@gmail.com says:

Thank you Mr Editor. Much appreciated.

  23. Adrian Holloway says:

IMO there are only 3 horses who can win the VDJ…GTGL..Linebacker and Finders Keepers…this is based on the best weighted horse ie GTGL and the horses who have won the most important pointer races ie Cape Derby..DN 2000 ( both Linebacker) and the 1900 won by FK…GTGL and LBs claim have been well documented but FK must have an undeniable chance off a postage stamp weight and the current champ jock aboard…albeit she is in under a bit of sufferance its probably by the stables design because of her being so lightly raced nobody really knows how good she is and she is probably still ahead of the handicapper….Im very sweet on her and dont be surprised to see her ” walk it”….Adrian

  24. Joan Mackinnon says:

Has the 3 year old, Pergola been scratched

    1. Editor says:

Joan, which race are you referring to?
