Justin Needs A Winner For New Benchmark

Anybody betting against Cape star getting to 200?

With just one week left of the 2020/21 South African racing season, Cape trainer Justin Snaith is on the cusp of a third national champion title and is set to break new ground by achieving a career first 200 winner mark.

When the Maine Chance- owned Trickster won the sixth race at Fairview on Friday under Kyle Strydom, she took the Snaith team to 199 winners for the term.

With 11 runners at Kenilworth on Saturday, a single runner at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday, 4 representatives at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday, 21 at the country course Durbanville in midweek, and 14 at the Marshalls World Of Sport Festival Of Racing on Saturday – the Fairview Friday meeting is not yet final – it would take a brave man to bet against Snaith not passing the magical 200 mark!

With gross stakes of over R 15 million, Snaith is unlikely to be overtaken by Paul Peter (R12,3 million) and traditional rival Sean Tarry (R10,9 million) in the quest for the national title – a trophy he last lifted in 2017/18, and which he lost to Tarry in 2014.
