More Than Ready went to stud in 2001

Vinery Stud have announced that their stallion More Than Ready (Southern Halo-Woodman’s Girl, by Woodman) has achieved his 2000th individual winner.

He is the sire of this term’s SA Champion sire elect Gimmethegreenlight.

To put the achievement in perspective, More Than Ready is the first stallion to sire 2000 individual winners.

His 2000th winner came via USA born Rupp N Ready (More Than Ready-Gone Theatrical, by Theatrical) who won at Indiana Grand over 1700m.

Born in 1997, More Than Ready won the Gr1 King’s Bishop Stakes, and entered stud in 2001.

He is the stallion who has shuttled the most consecutive seasons, and was the Leading US Sire of 2YOs in 2010 and Leading Australian Sire of 2YOs in 2007/08 and 2008/09.

His 2000 winners include 208 stakes winners, such as Champion Middle Distance Horse More Joyous, two Champion USA Turf Mares Rushing Fall and Uni, Head of the World Thoroughbred Sprint rankings Roy H, Champion Sprinter Mare in Australia Samaready, Champion Older Male Miler in Ireland Verrazano, Champion 2YO Colt in Australia Sebring.

His sire sons include Sebring (70 SW) Gimmethegreenlight (36), Verrazano (13), Ready’s Image (10), Perfectly Ready (7), and the up and coming Better Than Ready (5).
