New Technology for Catalogues

The 2011 Fasig-Tipton November Sale print catalogue will feature “QR Code Enhanced Pedigrees, the first Thoroughbred sales catalogue to ever feature this technology. Each catalogue page is equipped with a QR (Quick Response) Code in the bottom corner, which can be scanned via a Smart Phone app. The user will be immediately linked to that horse’s enhanced online catalogue page, where all information on the page can be accessed.

The November Sale’s enhanced online catalogue features an individual webpage for each offering in the sale. These webpages feature such information as updated pedigrees, updated past performances, race replays, links to news articles about each offering, consignor contact information, and in the case of weanlings, a link to sires’ Stallion Register page.
The site also features a landing page for each consignor that provides an index for their entire consignment.
“These technological enhancements put more resources than ever at the finger tips of prospective buyers,” said Max Hodge, Director of Client Services.

“Our new online catalogue is easily accessed from any computer, smart phone, or tablet, and our print catalogue is the first Thoroughbred sales catalogue in the world to be equipped with QR Code technology. All of us at Fasig-Tipton are proud to debut these enhancements at our November Sale, one of the more special Thoroughbred auctions held in the world today.”
