Mgudlwa Suspended

Waived his Right of Appeal against the penalty

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in the Stipendiary Stewards’ Boardroom at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 2 June 2021, Jockey Athandiwe Mgudlwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.

The particulars being that as the rider of SANS DANCER, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners in the concluding stages, in Race 4 at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 23 May 2021.

Jockey Mgudlwa pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board accepted his plea and accordingly found Jockey Mgudlwa guilty as charged.

After considering the evidence in this matter, the Inquiry Board imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of ten days.

Jockey Mgudlwa waived his Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed and was granted permission to take his suspension from 6 June to 15 June 2021, both days inclusive.
