Equus Champion 3YO Titles At Stake

Hollywoodbets Greyville - 29 May

A quality entry was received on Monday for two important 3yo clashes on the Daily News raceday at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday 29 May.

The R750 000 Gr1 Daily News 2000 could host a rematch of the WSB Guineas first, third and fourth finishers, headed by Vaughan Marshall’s smashing Gr1 Cape Derby winner, Linebacker.

With no luck in running in the Guineas, Cape hometown star Kommetdieding gets a chance to set the record straight over the extra 400m, while Dean Kannemeyer’s Cape Guineas winner Russian Rock should strip fit and ready to prove he is no one-hit wonder.

The fillies will face each other in the Woolavington 2000, where Cape star Captain’s Ransom, a recent easy winner of the WSB Fillies Guineas, bumps Gauteng’s SA Triple Tiara Star, War Of Athena.

South Africa’s leading bookmaker Hollywoodbets have priced up in their ante-post market, with Linebacker at 16-10 and Captain’s Ransom quoted at 7-10.
