Gavin’s Got A Busy Day At The Office

First due off @ 12h20

The first of today’s local double-headers kicks off at the Vaal with Race 1 on the eight-race programme due off at 12h20.

Jockey Gavin Lerena has six rides booked with a couple of decent winning chances and may be worth following.

We Are The Logans from the Tony Peter stable takes his place in Race 3. His last four starts have been good.

He was running on when third over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He should have no issues with the rise to 1700m.

Gavin Lerena takes the ride and this son of Flying The Flag can notch up his third-career victory.

Mike and Adam Azzie send out Francine in Race 7. She produced an encouraging comeback run when fifth over this course and distance last time.

She jumped outwards leaving the start but stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Silvano would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter.

It is encouraging that Gavin Lerena keeps faith in the ride, and she can return to winning ways.
