The Alchemy’s beautifully bred young stallion Where’s That Tiger was represented by another black type winner when his son Supertube landed Saturday’s R250 000 Gr3 Gauteng Racing Association Handicap at Turffontein.

The 25-1 Supertube came home strongly to win his first try at 3200m and beat Cool Chardonnay by 2,25 lengths in a time of 205,55 secs.
The fancied Storm Warning moved up dangerously, but could only manage third.
Trained by champion conditioner Sean Tarry, the Australian bred Supertube picked up the fourth win of his career from 19 starts and took his earnings to R344 800.
He is a horse very close to jockey S’manga Khumalo’s heart. Khumalo endured 18 months of trauma following a questionable ride on the gelding at his debut in November 2013.
He was fined R75 000 earlier this year at the conclusion of the case, which provided trainer Sea Tarry with his own trauma.
The versatile Supertube (who is intensely inbred to the wonderful mare Angel Fever) has now won from 1700-3200m and he looks a likely contender for some of the bigger staying races later in the season.
His sire Where’s That Tiger has a superb strike rate in South Africa.

The son of super-sire Storm Cat has been represented by just nine runners in this country –six of which have won and two of which are black type winners. Where’s That Tiger’s local performers include the brilliant but ill-fated filly Tiger Quest, winner of the Listed Gardenia Handicap and runner up in the G2 SA Fillies Nursery.
Where’s That Tiger’s sire Storm Cat has been a superb sire of sires, with his outstanding sire sons including Giant’s Causeway, Hennessy, Stormy Atlantic, Harlan, Tale Of The Cat, Storm Boot, Tiger Ridge, and Forest Wildcat. Leading representatives of the Storm Cat male line in South Africa include the likes of Black Minnaloushe and Var.
This powerful male line enjoyed plenty of success over the weekend, thanks to the likes of Stormy Lucy (G1 Matriarch Stakes), Noah From Goa (G2 Investec Dingaans), and the above mentioned Supertube.
Where’s That Tiger’s close relatives Brave Tin Soldier and G1 Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus have both been in the news recently –Brave Tin Soldier as the sire of G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes winner Rabada and Fusaichi Pegasus as the damsire of Silver Mountain –a dominant favourite for Saturday’s Gr1 World Sports Betting Cape Fillies Guineas.
Supertube was bred by E Thoroughbred Pty Ltd, NSW, Messrs L M Nestadt & B Kantor and is out of the Fusaichi Pegasus mare, Ultimate Inca.
