Rachel Rides At Turffontein Today

The first race kicks off at 12h20

Racing is back on the Inside course at Turffontein this afternoon and nine races are carded. Apprentice Rachel Venniker has eight rides booked with a couple of decent winning chances and she may be worth following. The first is due off at 12h20.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Stuart Pettigrew saddles Gilded Butterfly in Race 6 and she is the best bet on the programme. She has very good consistent form lines to her credit. She lost a length at the start last time, challenged strongly but found one too good in the form of Halloween.

She has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this course and distance. She should strip a much fitter horse today and if jumping on terms, can notch up her third career victory.

Global Breeze from the Grant Maroun stable takes his place in Race 3. He finished 2 lengths behind Clap Of Thunder last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

The son of Global View has plenty of scope and from his good draw of two, he can shed his maiden tag.
