Soma’s Lady Of Power The One To Beat

First off at 12h15

Racing is at the Vaal Racecourse this afternoon and an eight-race programme is scheduled.

The first is due off at 12h15 with the lucky last set for 16h25.

Lady Of Power from the Joe Soma yard should give punters a good start to the day. She produced a promising debut effort over 1100m on this course. She understandably raced green, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging.

The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience and will enjoy the extra 100m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the horse to beat.

Samoa from the Bridget Stidolph stable may be the horse to close off the meeting.

She finished 1.3 lengths behind Love Bite last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and she can return to winning ways.
