Eric Sands saddles Heart Stealer in Race 1 and he should give punters a good start to the day. He produced a promising debut effort over this course and distance, six weeks ago.

He had to be switched at the 400m mark, moved up well but was caught in the shadow of the post by Dance Variety. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since.

The son of Time Thief would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.

Arctic Ice from the Paul Reeves yard takes her place in Race 7. She has shown good signs of a form return in her last two starts.

She stayed on nicely to finish third in her last start over 1000m on this course. She carries a handy galloping mass of 53kgs and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Keanan Steyn is not riding today.
