Inquiry – Jockey Bernard Fayd’herbe

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in Cape Town on 30 November 2010, Jockey Bernard Fayd’herbe was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of LORENZO MARQUES, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners over the final 200m in Race 10 at the Kenilworth Racecourse on 27th November 2010.

Mr B Fayd’herbe pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board found Mr Fayd’herbe guilty and imposed a suspension from riding in race meetings for a period of ten days.

Mr Fayd’herbe has the Right of Appeal against both the finding and the penalty.

Apprentice Jockey Miss Justine King Suspended

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that Apprentice Jockey Miss Justine King was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of CLASSIC FOREST, she failed to ensure that she did not cause interference to LUCKY FLAG when she shifted inwards at approximately the 350m mark of Race 7 at the Fairview Racecourse on 29 November 2010.

Miss King signed an Admission of Guilt and she has been suspended from riding in race meetings for a period of one week from 4 December to 10 December 2010, both days inclusive.

Jockey Brandon Morgenrood Suspended

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that Jockey Brandon Morgenrood was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of CAPE TRAFALGAR, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to THUNDERFLASH at approximately the 400m mark of Race 7 at the Fairview Racecourse on 19 November 2010.

Mr Morgenrood signed an Admission of Guilt and he has been suspended from riding in race meetings for a period of one week from 30 November to 6 December 2010, both days inclusive.

Jockey Simanga Khumalo Suspended

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that Jockey Simanga Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of ARABIAN JET, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners in Race 7 at the Vaal Racecourse on 25 November 2010.

Mr Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and he has been suspended from riding in race meetings for a period of one week from 1 December to 7 December 2010, both days inclusive.

Apprentice Jockey Keagan de Melo Suspended

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that Apprentice Jockey Keagan de Melo was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of DONGOLA, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to KING FERNANDO over the final 100 metres of Race 5 at the Greyville Racecourse on 26 November 2010.

Mr de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt and he has been suspended from riding in race meetings for a period of one week from 29 November to 5 December 2010, both days inclusive.

Apprentice Jockey Jassurick Jordaan Suspended

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that Apprentice Jockey Jassurick Jordaan was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read with Guideline C, in that when riding KNIGHT’S INLET in Race 8, he used his crop in an unnecessary manner over the final 400 metres in Race 8 at the Turffontein Racecourse on 27 November 2010.

Mr Jordaan signed an Admission of Guilt and he has been suspended from riding in race meetings for a period of one week from 5 December to 11 December 2010, both days inclusive.
