July 2011: Inquiry – trainer D Rahilly

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that an Inquiry held at its Head Office on 20 July 2011, Trainer Rahilly was charged with a contravention of Rule 73.2.4, in that he, as the Trainer and the person responsible for the horse TUTENKHAMEN at the time when a specimen, taken from this horse after it had participated the 5th race at the Vaal Racecourse on 17 February 2011 disclosed upon analysis the presence of Ketoprofen which is a prohibited substance in terms of the Rules of The National Horseracing Authority.

Trainer Rahilly pleaded guilty to and was found guilty of the charge.

The Inquiry Board imposed a fine of R40 000,00.  Trainer Rahilly has the right of appeal against the penalty imposed.

Furthermore in terms of Rule 72.3.2 TUTENKHAMEN was disqualified from the race and the provisions of Rule 67.7.8 shall apply.
