Accounts Manager –  Cape Based

A full-time post has arisen in the Kenilworth Racing Finance Department at Kenilworth Racecourse.

Reporting to the COO/Director, the successful incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions i.e. receivables, payables, cash book, general ledger, budget preparations as well as general accounting functions.

Applicants should meet following criteria:

  • BCom or Diploma in Financial Accounting preferred
  • At least 18 months experience in an accounting environment
  • A sound working knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet monthly deadlines
  • Ability to review and analyse monthly results to ensure accuracy of financial statements, making accruals and adjustments as needed
  • Ability to prepare schedules for management accounts on a monthly basis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of ACCPAC accounting system strongly recommended
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to ensure accounting allocations are accurate
  • Ability to reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Ability to deal with confidential information
  • Ability to work independently and solve routine problems
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
