Local Racing Returns Today!

The Bipot starts in the first race at 12h35

After a three day blank on the local racing calendar, Turffontein plays host to an eight-race programme on the Inside course today.

Don’t forget about the free to play Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge with the first due off at 12h35.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Candice Dawson sends out Desert Cloud in Race 3. She has produced two good second place finishes to date.

She jumped inwards leaving the start last time, but the way she finished off her race caught the eye.

The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight will love the rise to 1200m and she should strip fitter. If getting away to a clean start, she should give the males a run for their money.

Dark Silver from the Alec Laird stable takes his place in Race 7. He took the lead at the 350m mark last time before getting outrun late.

He finished 0.25 lengths behind Diesel’s Shadow that day.

He is 2kgs better off at the weights and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

Immediate Edge has come out and won a Listed event since.

He has cracked a good draw of three and can notch up his second-career victory.

Race: 5 No: 6 UMHLANGA had a 124 day break due to relocating. He was gelded 3 December 2024.
