Maphaka To Clean Bowl Them In Opener

First due off @ 12h20

It’s the first racemeeting for the 2024/2025 season at Hollywoodbets Scottsville today with eight races and one feature carded for this afternoon.

Don’t forget to get your selections in for the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge before the first gets off at 12h20.

Maphaka from the Dean Kannemeyer stable should give punters a good start to the day.

He caught the eye when second on debut over this course and distance.

He lost a length leaving the start but ran on strongly at the finish. Hollywood Syndicate manager Anthony Delpech commented that he was very unlucky not to have won and wasn’t given the best of rides. Delpech said that he looks a progressive horse.

The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should go one better.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored Trainer Peter Muscutt sends out Night Rocker in Race 4. He is better than his disappointing latest effort.

His debut effort when second under Tristan Godden catches the eye. The son of Global View will love the rise to 1400m.

He has plenty of scope and from his good draw of three, he may be the one to side with.

Jockey Jabu Jacobs is not riding today – licence not renewed.
