Sold Out – Should Be A Crackerjack Of A Day

Racing starts at 11h30

An eventful 2023 has flown by and on Saturday we look forward to another renewal of the R2 million Hollywoodbets Gr1 Cape Guineas at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday.

Around 20 000 Capetonians are expected to descend on the newly revamped Southern Suburbs landmark for South Africa’s premier classic contest and the Kaapse Klopse’s voorsmaakie.

The mile feature is off at 15h40.

The annual opener to the minstrel season is the second biggest parade outside of Tweede Nuwe Jaar and there will be performances by more than 15 Cape Minstrel Troupes comprising approximately 8 000 members ahead of the Hollywoodbets Cape Town Street Parade on 2 January.

Visitors can expect traditional Cape Town cuisine, a market, a safe and supervised kids’ zone, and more.

The MC for the event will be former Idols contestant Nazneen Leeman and the horse -racing action ends around 17h30, with the Klopse activities starting at 18h30 and running until 23h45.

Everybody entering the course will need a ticket, which costs R10  and can be bought on Computicket or at Shoprite stores for those who cannot purchase online.

Kids under 18 enter free but parents and guardians will need to claim a free ticket when purchasing a ticket for themselves.

From Tickets To Parking & Minstrel Parade: What You Need To Know Before Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas

A R1 million Pick 6 carryover is set to boost the Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas Day exotic pool.

The Pick 6 Pool is expected to reach R5 million and the competitive nature of the Pick 6 races will almost certainly ensure a healthy return.

A fortnight ago, on WSB Cape Fillies Guineas Day at the same venue, three Pick 6 players collected over R1,17 million each from a pool of just under R4 million.

On top of that the average Quartet payout over nine races was R13,442, with one returning R47,254 and another yielding in excess of R52,000!

The first race is off at 11h30.
