Eight races are carded on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon.
The first is due off at 12h35 with the lucky last scheduled for 16h30.
Trainer Sean Tarry sends out Billy Spellbound in Race 4 and he is the possible Pick 6 banker. He has shown good improvement in his last two starts after returning from a 19-week break.
He should have finished closer to the winner over 1400m last time as he hung in the closing stages. The son of William Longsword should love the rise to 1800m and the blinkers will keep his mind on the task at hand. He is a progressive type and can shed his maiden tag.
Mcebisi from the Corne Spies yard takes his place in Race 7. He has decent recent form lines to his name.
He was doing his best work late when third over 1400m on the Turffontein Standside course last time. He finished 0.25 lengths behind Trident King in his penultimate effort. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today. Marco van Rensburg steps back into the saddle and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
